The Scene7 Infinite Imaging Platform (IIP) package is a set of tightly
integrated modules with everything you need to create, enhance, manage,
publish, and serve “dynamic images.” The premier edition
to the Scene7's platform includes the following components:

Use the Image Production System as your primary image repository or
integrate it with your existing legacy site-architecture environment.
IPS comes with a SOAP/XML service that allows direct connection
between your existing application servers, CMS, and/or DAM systems.

The Infinite Imaging Server is a web service configured to a port
on the server. It acts like a black box, responding to image requests
with simple URL calls. You can integrate the IIS into your production
web environment by changing your website pages to request an image
from the IIS instead of from a web-server folder. As an added advantage,
your request can include parameters that change the size, resolution,
and other parameters for the image on the fly. You can create these
requests in IPS and then cut and paste them into your dynamic website
pages.

When you integrate the Scene7 Infinite Imaging Platform, your overall
production environment and website might look like the one shown
below.

Microsoft Office Integration:
Access images in IPS directly from Microsoft Office 2003. Using
the Microsoft Office Research task pane, images stored in IPS can
be made available for use in Microsoft Word documents and PowerPoint
presentations. This integration extends the reach of image assets
within IPS, and allows information workers to access the power of
Scene7’s Infinite Imaging Platform directly from the tools
they work in everyday.

Scene7 for Microsoft Office allows you to search the image repository
within IPS for corporate approved imagery that can be modified and
inserted into your Word documents or PowerPoint presentations, ensuring
accurate, up-to-date visual information.

A SOAP Web Service running under the IPS application server provides
simple text and advanced search queries for IPS assets. Using a
client-installed Smart Tag library, images can be processed through
sophisticated image templates and inserted directly into Word or
PowerPoint applications.
