Littlewoods.com wins IMRG's Best Use of Rich Media award with Adobe Scene7
Littlewoods.com has picked up the award for 'Best Use of Rich Media' at the inaugural IMRG e-Commerce Awards for Excellence, after integration of e-Video by Adobe Scene7 resulted in a double digit increase in conversion rates.
The award, which also saw Miss Selfridge and EasyJet as finalists, called for the most imaginative and best use of video content to enhance the customer experience. Shop Direct – Littlewoods' parent company – chose the Adobe Scene7 cross-media platform to host and publish more than 1,500 videos, in an integrated multi-media viewer enabling video, zoom and alternative views. The videos, ranging from 30 seconds to several minutes, feature catwalk shows and product demonstrations. The videos appeared on Littlewoods.com and also across the company’s ten other e-commerce sites.
"The implementation of such a large number of hosted videos - the biggest to date by a UK retailer - was a huge undertaking," said Mark Newton-Jones, CEO of Shop Direct Group, owners of Littlewoods.com. "The Scene7 cross-media platform was simple to implement, highly cost-effective and we’ve seen benefits in terms of customer engagement, improved conversion rates and higher sales."
Littlewoods.com also used video to demonstrate clothing advice, fashion tips and new collections from brand ambassadors Trinny and Susannah, which featured in a pop-out wide screen viewer.

"Littlewoods' combination of interactive zoom and pan on multiple product image views to enable shoppers to closely examine merchandise on their own with videos that demonstrate and tell how products work, feel, fit, flow and look together offers online shoppers complete information. And, products supported by video clearly show a marked increase in conversion rates over those that are not - as demonstrated by our results with Littlewoods.com."
