e-InBusiness partners with Scene7 for rich, automated media solutions for
product information on e-commerce sites
Exciting dynamic imaging functionality set to spice up major online stores
e-InBusiness has partnered with Scene7 to provide customers with new and exciting ways in which to display products online. e‑InBusiness has implemented Scene7 products within its own e-commerce platform and is currently building dynamic new website functionality for its joint retail clients. Shoppers will be able to zoom in on products, even multiple products in a single lifestyle or catalogue imagery to view an amazing level of detail.
Image management is made easier for the online retailer because the technology generates the most appropriate image, ie. thumbnails for lists, large images for product details or zoomable images for more detail, all from one single image held within the library. This reduces photography costs and the number of images to be managed – by up to 80%. The technology can even present products in a range of colours and textures just from that one original image; saving the retailer time and resources and enabling them to illustrate many item alternatives or options, without the necessity of photographing multiple products especially expensive “in context or lifestyle” photography. The result is amazingly true to life, which enhances the shopping experience resulting in higher conversion rates and fewer returns.
“We’re excited about our partnership with e-InBusiness,” said Doug Mack, CEO of Scene7. “e-InBusiness’s impressively long track record of building successful online stores for a wide range of retailers makes them an ideal partner for Scene7. This strong relationship will continue to drive Scene7’s international growth and further broaden our presence worldwide.”
Joe Mountain, Business Development Director at e-InBusiness commented, “As the e-commerce market matures, and good bandwidth connections become more widespread, so technology like Scene7’s can be taken advantage of by the majority of Internet users, not just the few. It is now paramount for retailers, particularly retailers selling high quality, premium products, to be able to fully demonstrate the quality of their goods online. This gives shoppers a much more informative as well as an exciting shopping experience, helping to cut returns because they purchased the correct product in the first place.”
Mr Mountain continued, “When Boo.com launched in 1999 the site had some fabulous functionality, but was way ahead of its time. Now that broadband is becoming more widespread people are able to take advantage of rich media applications. This will drive the early promise of interactive shopping to become a reality over the coming months.”
