Moosejaw Selects Scene7’s Hosted Self-service Rich Media Platform to Drive Sales and Reduce Web Production Time and Costs by at least 60%

Multi-channel outdoor sporting goods retailer adding dynamic zoom, re-sizing and color swatching across all images on e-commerce website


Novato, CA — May 17, 2005 — Scene7®, provider of the leading automated rich media platform to grow revenues by creating visually enhanced targeted customer experiences via the web, email & print, today announced that outdoor sporting goods retailer Moosejaw is implementing Scene7’s Infinite Imaging™ Network (IIN) hosted rich media platform to add dynamic zoom, re-sizing and color swatching across all images on its e-commerce website. Scene7 offers the only hosted "do-it-yourself" rich media platform in the industry that allows retailers to control their rich media production and publishing with minimal IT investment and support.

Moosejaw is adding dynamic zoom and color swatching to its online product images. Moosejaw customers will be able to select a product, change the color, and zoom in to see the product detail. "We call it 'shopping the jumbos'," said Wolfe. "You can change colors and zoom in from a single view, making it a seamless shopping experience for our customers – which we expect will help increase our online revenues."

Scene7’s dynamic re-sizing will help eliminate Moosejaw’s manual image production processes, which will streamline the web production process and result in a reduction of time and costs. "Before Scene7, we had at least a three step process for preparing our images for the website – which included getting an image from the supplier and creating at least 3 different sizes per color, per product, which resulted in about 15,000 different image variations every 6 months," said Wolfe. "Because Scene7 can dynamically generate every variation from our single master images, we now can cut the number of images we need to create to less than 5,000 images - netting us time and costs savings of at least 60%."
