LAMPS PLUS Increases Revenues Using Scene7’s Dynamic Imaging
Solution via Web, Email, Print, and Retail Kiosks
Novato, CA — August 24, 2004 — Scene7®, provider of
the leading rich media platform to grow revenues and enhance visual
communications – while automating media production and delivery,
today announced that LAMPS PLUS is utilizing Scene7’s Dynamic
Imaging solution to improve the visual presentation of its product
line for customers online, in emails, in print, and in-store while
automating production of its image assets for use in all selling channels.
Dynamic Imaging is one of five rich media solutions built upon a single
integrated platform for rich media. LAMPS PLUS is able to provide
enhanced visualization capabilities such as zoom and pan to highlight
product details, while dynamically sizing, formatting, and transforming
all output to the correct media for its various selling channels.
LAMPS PLUS has an extensive inventory of lighting products which are
available to its customers through its 40+ superstores, print catalogs,
and on its e-commerce website. On the LAMPS PLUS Website, Scene7’s
flash-based zoom and dynamic panning enables customers to view high-resolution
product details on any product quickly and easily, providing them
an engaging shopping experience and importantly, the visual information
needed to make a purchase decision. The same images that are generated
for the LAMPS PLUS Website are also available to LAMPS PLUS’
catalogs and in-store kiosks, allowing LAMPS PLUS to extend its product
inventory on the show floor, directly contributing to an increase
in multi-channel revenues.
LAMPS PLUS is also using Scene7 to dynamically deliver images to customers
via email. LAMPS PLUS combines customer preferences and past purchase
information and populates email templates with Scene7 dynamic imagery
to provide customers with visually compelling, personalized email
communications.
“Scene7’s dynamic imaging has transformed our business,”
said Dennis Swanson, CEO and owner of LAMPS PLUS. “It has helped
streamline our production process and is directly helping us drive
our internet and in-store businesses. Our customers love that they
can zoom in on product details online so they can see the quality
of the products – and there are no surprises when the customer
gets the lamp at home. And we’re able to sell more product in
stores because the dynamic images served from our database allow us
to carry more inventory through our kiosks – directly contributing
to an increase in our multi-channel revenues.”
"We’re very pleased to be helping LAMPS PLUS extend the
value of its image assets,” said Doug Mack, CEO of Scene7. "As
a true multi-channel retailer that relies on visual merchandising
to show the quality of its products, LAMPS PLUS can expect to realize
both top line and bottom line business benefits from Scene7’s
single integrated platform for rich media production and delivery.”
