Illuminations selects Scene7’s eCatalog Solution to Drive Multi-channel
Sales
Annual Catalog Conference, Chicago, IL May 4, 2004 Scene7,
the leading provider of dynamic imaging software, today announced
that Illuminations, a leading resource for premium candles and distinctive
home decorating solutions is utilizing Scene7’s hosted eCatalog
solution (100% full services) for its online print catalog publishing
and viewing.

Using Scene7’s full service hosted eCatalog solution option,
Illuminations decided to outsource the task of publishing and hosting
its Web catalogs. Illuminations simply delivers its PDFs of its printed
catalogs to Scene7, and Scene7 does the rest of the work.
Scene7 uploads the PDF files into its hosted Dynamic Imaging on Demand
network, which automatically orders each catalog page properly, and
adds hot links to product pages on the Illuminations’ Website.
Interactive features such as zoom and pan are automatically added
during the creation of the eCatalog. The catalog is then published
to Scene7’s hosted network for final review by Illuminations,
and once approved, is linked to the Illuminations’ Homepage.
The entire process typically can be turned around in less than a week.
Once published, Illuminations customers can view these catalogs through
their Flash-enabled browser. The immersive experience includes dynamic
zooming and panning of product images, realistic looking page flipping,
sticky notes with individual annotation, rollover product descriptions
and tool tip help. Eventually, Illuminations may consider taking their
catalog publishing in-house as Scene7 has a variety of licensing options
from outsourced “On Demand” to packaged software.
