Orvis.com Drives Up Conversion Rates Using Scene7 Platform
Orvis adds Scene7 “color swapping”
on fashion items to increase sales
Novato, CA Scene7, the leading provider of dynamic
imaging software, today announced Orvis.com increased overall conversion
rates on apparel items by 15%, representing significant incremental
revenues, using Scene7’s Infinite Imaging Platform. Orvis, the
nation’s oldest mail order company, specializing in premium
fly-fishing tackle, upscale traditional New England apparel, luggage,
and gifts for the country home, recently added the ability to see
all fabric color options on apparel items sold on its website, www.orvis.com.
Users can choose a men’s or women’s apparel item, click
on any available fabric swatch option and see their choice instantly
applied to the actual garment image. “We implemented
this new visualization feature on our site in record time —
less than a month. Our customers and merchandisers love it.”
said John Rogers, Director E-Commerce Marketing for Orvis.com. “Scene7’s
Infinite Imaging Platform has improved our merchandising flexibility,
now we have a product visual for every option allowing us to visually
represent our full line. We plan to add more Scene7 features on our
website this quarter.” Present All Product
Options on Web or for Print
Scene7's leading Infinite Imaging platform can take a single photograph
such as a photo of a women’s shirt on model and apply infinite
combinations of fabric materials — all in perfect high resolution
photo quality. These newly computer generated images allow clients
such as Orvis.com to present their products and options for either
the web or print while avoiding the need for additional expensive
photography. "We are pleased to be partnering with Orvis.com,"
states Doug Mack, CEO of Scene7. "As an industry leader in direct
mail outdoor gear, apparel and gift items, Orvis.com is continuously
seeking innovative and information-rich ways to help their customers
during the decision-making process." About Orvis
