Individual Software Inc. Signs Agreement with Scene7 to Develop Leading Software for Home Design and Landscaping

PLEASANTON, CA —
Individual Software Inc. is pleased to announce its entry into the $50 million* Home Design and Landscaping software market through an exclusive licensing agreement with Scene7, Inc., the developer of the highly acclaimed Total 3D™ Home Deluxe and Total 3D™ Landscape Deluxe programs. Effective January 2002, the appointment of Individual Software as the North American publisher for the Total 3D product lines signals a commitment to redefining a "best of breed" product through the adoption of innovative features previously found only on professional level home design programs. As a leader and innovator in the home design category for many years, the Total 3D series has inspired hundreds of thousands of home owners to try their hand at remodeling – from simple room additions, to designing an entire dream house.

Individual Software will release an exciting, updated Designed for Microsoft® Windows XP version of the Total 3D series, which incorporates sophisticated technology to visualize users' projects. The home design software market is among the top five of 38 Personal Productivity categories*.

"It's clearly an exciting time to enter the Home Design and Landscaping software market, with the fine folks of Scene7 as our partners," stated Jo-L Hendrickson, President and Founder of Individual Software. "The Total 3D series will continue to offer a variety of building, remodeling, decorating and gardening ideas, but our enhanced version will contain new features that can be used by consumers. For the past 20 years, Individual Software has developed high-quality, innovative software products, and we will leverage this experience onto the newest members of our family."

The Technology Behind the Products
Total 3D Home uses Scene7's proprietary Infinite Imaging™ technology to allow users to visualize their dream project. Infinite Imaging lets users instantly change out elements of an image – including color, material, pattern, trim, texture and surface. This one-of-a-kind technology enables users to mix and match an almost endless number of options – from cabinets to countertops to flooring and exteriors – and visualize them in context. The technology visually presents every option in absolute photo-realism, highlighting colors, reflections, textures, lighting and shadows.

Total 3D Landscape uses Smart YardBlocks to create their lot shape and size, and select from thousands of plants, flowers, trees, garden structures and objects. They can then visualize their selections together and view how they will grow over time. Additional technologies include an IdeaGallery, TerrainTools to integrate hills and slopes, a budget manager, and a 3D walkthrough feature, which offers details including seasonal changes.

"We look forward to extending the benefits of our Infinite Imaging technology to CD-ROM users," said Doug Mack, CEO of Scene7. "Individual Software is offering consumers a valuable opportunity to be able to dream, plan and actually see all of their design and decorating options before they start their projects."
