Smith+Noble has implemented Scene7’s Product Configurator solution to drive the Smith+ Noble Design Center. The Smith+Noble Design Center on the Smith+Noble website enables customers to visually configure custom window treatments on line in photo-realistic quality and in a room context so they can visualize exactly how their selections will look once they receive them. The Smith+Noble Design Center was built on Scene7’s rich media platform to enable dynamic configuration of product materials, fabrics, valance and tape options then visually present selected options real-time. Rendering quality is photo-perfect and offers detailed zoom on any configured product for close examination of product details.
The Smith + Noble Design Center currently features three product lines in the Product Configurator (Natural Wovens, Wood Blinds, & Soft Shades) and five product lines (Natural Wovens, Wood Blinds, Soft Shades, Honeycombs, & Drapery) in the Room Configurators. In the Room Configurators, customers can select window treatment options in either a bedroom or living room setting. They can then decorate the room, choosing materials and color options for the floor, walls, and furniture—enabling them to visualize their window treatment choices in the context of their own room color schemes.
Prior to the deployment of Scene7, Smith+Noble piloted another vendor’s solution that required them to pre-configure every combination. This was an inefficient and expensive process for Smith+Noble as the pain-staking manual workflow was lengthy, prone to errors, and the results lacked in quality while severely limiting the number of options visually represented. “We had originally tried to create the Design Center using another vendor, but their approach proved to be too time consuming and provided limited results,” said Tony Morris, eCommerce Manager. “Scene7’s solution is the only automated solution in the market place that enables true dynamic configuration of our products – only requiring digital swatches of our materials and options – which allows us to easily add new product lines quickly and scale as our business grows.”
Results:
Scene7’s Product Configurator solution is contributing to a 17% increase in conversion rate when compared to purchases made without using the Design Center.
Working with Scene7’s experienced client services team, Smith+Noble is able to cost-effectively add new products and features to the Design Center without negatively impacting internal resources. “Working with the Scene7 team has been great,” continued Tony Morris. “Their product management expertise combined with their automated workflows has made it possible for us to fully realize our vision for the Design Center – without breaking our budget.”
