Hunter Douglas is enabling online custom window fashion visualization by leveraging Adobe Scene7 OnDemand to dynamically display product imagery in its iMagine™ Design Center. This Flash-based rich Internet application engages customers by allowing them to choose from Hunter Douglas’ complete inventory to design custom window treatments in the context of their rooms and delivers photo-quality representations that include special lighting effects.
The Hunter Douglas iMagine Design Center guides users to over 40 different window covering options and thousands of fabric and color combinations that can be viewed in the context of a room or as a detailed product view and allows dynamic zoom on color and pattern details. The privacy and light control feature enables customers to filter their options based on opacity and change selections to visualize light transformations. The application’s ability to uniquely display shading from sheer to opaque that accurately reflects a room’s true lighting, and the ability for a user to change room attributes such as paint, trim and flooring options, encourages users to explore window fashions in colors beyond the neutral tones typically considered safe choices.
Scene7 OnDemand dynamically serves all product imagery used in the iMagine Design Center for interactive zoom, pan, color change and rendering in room scenes, and enables application updates, new products and color swatches to be added seamlessly. Collaborating with Scene7 professional services, leading interactive agency, Enlighten, designed Hunter Douglas’ Flash-based user interface and with Hunter Douglas prepared the product photography and color swatches to realistically demonstrate the lighting effects of products and color options.

Since deploying the iMagine Design Center, Hunter Douglas has measured significant increases in usage and time spent on the site and within the visualization tool itself.
