Industry: Home Improvement
Solution: Dynamic Imaging, Product Configurators

Challenges:

· Inability to present to its customers all of the possible faucet product combinations including price
· Desire to shorten the length and reduce expense related to sales cycle
· Needed to find a cost effective approach to visualizing presenting their entire product combinations

Delta Faucet Company is a division of Masco Corporation and is the largest U.S. manufacturer of residential and commercial faucets. The company manufactures the Delta®, Brizo™ and Peerless® faucet brands and holds the number one market share position in the United States. The market-leading Delta line, with a strong half-century heritage, delivers exceptionally well-made, stylish faucets and related accessories that are precisely crafted to be beautiful both inside and outside. Brizo provides high-end customers with distinctively designed, innovative faucets and accessories that complement today's luxury kitchens and baths. Peerless offers value-driven, proven designs that don't sacrifice style. Dedicated to a total customer experience, Delta Faucet invests heavily in internal processes and systems to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. A worldwide leader in faucets and related accessories, Delta Faucet sells products in more than 53 countries. It was essential for Delta to find a cost effective solution to present the high quality and variety of its vast line.

Best Practices:
· Allowed customers to view each faucet combination in context with real-time pricing
· Created engaging, interactive customer experience
· Enabled sales force to show builders and construction companies all product options and colors
· Allowed Delta to cost effectively pre-generate every faucet base, handle, accent, and finish

Delta Faucet looked to Scene7 for a solution that would integrate into its existing web infrastructure and allow customers to create and visualize faucet designs on the Delta Faucet website. Delta Faucet’s product line comprises a large number of kitchen and bath faucet models in different styles and finishes, and many of these products are configurable. Handles, accents, and faucet bases can be combined in a number of ways. This makes it difficult for customers to visualize the myriad of options available, and increases the length and expense of the sales cycle.

Scene7’s dynamic imaging capabilities enable Delta Faucet to utilize its high-resolution master images and pre-generate derivative images of every faucet base, handle, accent, and finish. These visual elements can then be combined online so Delta Faucet customers can visualize what each element would look like in context. Product pricing information from Delta Faucet’s Blue Martini system is tied to each individual product SKU and image, so as combinations are created, the pricing information is also automatically updated to present the customer with the price of their selected product. Said Fred Barendt, Director of Technology, “We have thousands of SKUs, and configured products also have their own separate SKU. Scene7 allows us to not only update our product imagery, but update pricing as well."

Results:
The addition of Scene7 has significantly improved product presentation and visual information throughout the Delta Faucet website, allowing Delta Faucet customers to visualize all available product configurations. Delta Faucet’s end customers can now make a more confident, informed purchase decision.

Scene7’s dynamic imaging has also helped streamline Delta Faucet’s internal sales processes.  “Our sales force has a need to show builders and construction companies all product options and colors, and now our internal sales force can pre-configure virtually any combination and show these as part of their sales process,” said Barendt.
