BRANDS PARADISE makes it easy and enjoyable to shop for and order premium merchandise by the hottest brand manufacturers around the clock from the comfort of your home. To establish a high-end online shopping experience consistent with the premium brands and merchandise it sells, BRANDS-PARADISE turned to Adobe Scene7 to help it improve visual merchandising on its site while reducing costs associated with managing, hosting and publishing product imagery.

Prior to Scene7, BRANDS-PARADISE back-office process required time-intensive creation, management and archiving of every product shot, which was cumbersome and costly, and did not afford the company the ability to offer rich viewing on its site. BRANDS-PARADISE photographer would take the product shots, edit them, load them onto its FTP server and then the company's content manager had to download them, edit and name them. The IT department had to then load the images onto its image server which occupied a huge amount of server space.

"We wanted to make our image management more efficient and thus less expensive to manage. We chose the Adobe Scene7 solution because it was the best platform on the market and met our requirements exactly: it had everything in it necessary for professional image management, is easy to use and less expensive than trying to do it ourselves. Today, our photographer can load the images directly to the Scene7 server, IT runs a script to name them all correctly and the job is done. This automation makes the operation much more efficient, as well as reduces demand on our own IT infrastructure, thereby reducing the risk of server failure – an additional reason for using Adobe Scene7," explained Ferenc Laban, Head of IT of BRANDS-PARADISE.

Apart from the cost-driven motivation for the implementation, BRANDS-PARADISE also wanted to improve the online shopping experience of its fashion portal. "We are selling high-end designer-wear in our Online Fashion Outlet Centre and customer expectations are high. First-class visual merchandising is a critical success factor. High-resolution images with a high level of zoom functionality are probably the most important factor in positively influencing the purchase decision," surmised Laban.

By leveraging Scene7 Dynamic Imaging, BRANDS-PARADISE is able to automatically generate any number of image variations from single high-resolution images and image commands to offer shoppers multiple product views with the ability to interactively zoom in and pan on details either in an embedded view on the product detail page or by selecting a larger modal layer pop-up view with interactive zoom and alternate views. Additionally, BRANDS-PARADISE is optimizing Scene7's data-driven templating capabilities on its category page to dynamically display the various discounts offered on each product.
